  • Two year old Stone pine seedlings ready to plant out in the field, averaging 30-40 cm tall.

  • Hardy, fast growing, heat and drought tolerant.

  • Crops are sown from August to November. Crops generally available for shipping from May - October

Recommended timber stocking 800-1350 stems per hectare. For nut production thin down to 400-600 stems per hectare by age 14.

Spacings: 2.7-3.3m (timber) - 5-6m for nut production

Recommended planting time: Cool/wet season. May-September in most of Australia.

Minimum annual rainfall recommended: 300mm per year. Best performance around 500-700mm per year

Soil and site conditions: Thrives on sandy, gravelly or rocky sites with good drainage. Will also grow well on heavier soils on slopes. Avoid planting areas that can be periodically waterlogged or with poorly drained clay or silt soils. Prefers acidic conditions.

Climate: Cool to warm temperate sites. Suits most of NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia except arid and subtropical-tropical areas. Will also grow well in higher elevations in Queensland. Suits all parts except upper highlands of Tasmania. Frost tolerant down to -7 degrees celsius. Very heat and drought tolerant
